Themes Of Love And Tragedy Essay - 2478 Words

Nicolas Sparks once said, â€Å"All love stories have themes of love and tragedy.† Throughout my life, my father and mother tried to show me how to love unconditionally, making this the most important thing in life. We never hung up the phone, or even left the room without saying I love you first. Flash forward 10 years; all the love that filled my childhood home is replaced with screams and blood covering the floor. Two days later, on Christmas morning, my mother is sobbing uncontrollably while her and my father discuss divorce. The conflict of my parents divorce changed my life, and perspective forever. When they got home, she couldn’t stand and my dad had to carry her up the steps and put a trashcan next to her bed. Another night, my dad drank a little too much after being fed up with my mother’s partying. He wanted to give her a taste of her own medicine. I was at my boyfriend’s house, and she came to pick me up because she said she couldn’t handle it and she didn’t want to stay at the house with him.
